personality depths
traits; Never judge a book by its cover... or a horse by its size. Skullcrusher may look intimidating because of his massive size but he's actually a big baby. His name gives the wrong impression of him, as does his necklace that his father made for him. He is a total Light, harmless by all means, and terrified of almost everything. He gets spooked by his own shadow sometimes and when he drinks he has to close his eyes so he doesn't seen his reflection. Reflective surfaces frighten him. He feels like his reflection will come out of the water and attack him. It sounds stupid and childish but it's something he has been afraid of since he was a young foal. He has the same idea about his shadow. He feels like its a separate entity and one day it will rise up and kill him. He's very, very delusional and paranoid, obviously, and in his old herd he was always getting made fun of. He has zero confidence in himself and can't talk around pretty mares. He starts stuttering and rambling and embarrassing himself. Some find it cute, others find it pathetic. Other than all of his fears and awkwardness, Skully is a pretty nice guy. He likes making friends and hanging out and trying to have fun, it can just be difficult for him to make friends because, well... he's nervous and shy.
mental health; Severe paranoia and delusions; panic attacks
history; Believe it or not, Skullcrusher used to live in a very, very Dark herd. His mother was a slave in the herd and for the first six months of his life, Skully remained in the slave cells. He was a lot bigger than any of the other foals that were born. His mother had a difficult time giving birth to him and it took her awhile to recover from the foaling. Skully stuck close to his mother, afraid of all the sights, sounds, and smells of the slave chambers. His mother wasn't very loving. She was severely depressed and had nothing to do with him unless he was suckling. She never talked to him or named him so for the first six months of his life he was nameless. That is, until the lead stallion came and took him. The leader was impressed by the colt's size and had plans on training him to be a warrior. Skully mingled with the rest of the herd, skittish and nervous as ever, and his father gave him his name - Skullcrusher. Skully didn't like it but he wasn't about to tell the leader that. When he was a year old, the leader, his father, gave him his woven grass and skull necklace. He keeps it now because he's scared that his father will find him and destroy him if he's found without his necklace. He was forced into warrior training and he failed at it. Horribly. He refused to fight, refused to hurt anyone, refused to go on missions. He didn't want to get hurt or hurt anyone else. It took two years for his father to finally give up on him and kick him out of the herd on Skully's third birthday. From that day onward, he just traveled alone until he came here, to Wild Equines.
