traits; Rapunzel has the type of personality where every day is the best day of her life. She's childish, having had no contact with anyone aside from the mare that claimed to be her mother but really wasn't to so long, and then her actual mother for a few months, with no actual social skills but instead of being awkward, she's bright and cheery and curious, never seeing the bad in others and always wanting to encourage someone to live their dream and never let anyone get them down. She's also extremely hyper, especially now that she actually gets to run around instead of being trapped in that dreadful, gloomy gave her "mother" kept her in for so long. Rapunzel, however, is seemingly incapable of hate. She has such a big heart and just wants to love everyone and be friends with everyone but despite all of that, she's not a pushover. She's actually incredibly stubborn and once she gets an idea, or a dream, she's determined to accomplish it.

history; Rapunzel was born to the King and Queen of a faraway land, only to be kidnapped by a mare that claimed to be her mother but was actually a mare that had been exiled from the herd years before her birth. The mare captured the carefree Rapunzel when she was just a few days old, taking her far away from the land and hiding the princess away in a cave, a cave Rapunzel didn't leave for eight whole years. The mare, whom Rapunzel knew only as Mother, was not cruel to her, exactly, at least not when she was young. She would speak with Rapunzel, bringing in a different mare every day for the filly to nurse from. Always a different one every day. Rapunzel knows now that Mother probably killed them all. Mother was the only equine she ever had any contact with. She thought it was normal, never questioned it, but as she grew older, she also grew curious. At about six years old, she asked Mother if she could go explore. Mother grew upset, yelling at Rapunzel, and she disappeared for a few hours only to come back with a strange creature. She called it a chameleon. It changed colors to fit its surroundings and would nest in Rapunzel's long, elegant mane. This satisfied the mare and she thanked Mother for her friend, naming him Pascal. All was well for the next two years. She was growing older and wanted to go explore the world! She asked mother again, and again, and again, until the day came that Mother snapped and strike out at the innocent girl. Frightened, Rapunzel fled the cave, galloping off, her young body able to go faster and further than the older mare's, but since she had never actually ran in her life, she did not have strength to go very far.
What she did find, however, was... magical. That's the word she used to describe it. There were other horses but they had other creatures sitting on top of them - humans, she came to learn after a few months of living on the outskirts there - and these creatures were gentle and kind. They captured Rapunzel, bringing her into their barn and getting all of the tangles out of her mane and tail. There were smaller humans that braided her mane and stuck flowers in it, petting her neck and face and murmuring in their own language that Rapunzel never learned to understand. She was then turned out with another mare, older than herself, and was startled to have the mare gasp and run to her with tears in her eyes. It was Rapunzel's actual mother! Bubbles, they called her, a stark white arabian with bright blue eyes. Bubbles told her about how Rapunzel had been a princess but had been taken away, kidnapped, and that the kingdom had fallen to the hands of the humans.
She probably would have stayed with the humans... had there not been a fire one night, one that destroyed the whole property, killing many of the horses and humans. Bubbles helped her daughter escape, suffering burns that ended up taking her life, and Rapunzel found herself alone once more. Despite it all, she kept her happy, naive personality and she began to wander, no true destination in mind, just knowing she never wanted to be trapped again.family bonds
